Ziqing

Ziqing arrived with a clear idea in mind, something already formed before she even stepped into The Tiny Studio. She knew what she wanted from her portraits, and she came prepared, carrying outfits she loved, pieces that reflected her taste and the image she had imagined. Her makeup was carefully done, the result of time spent beforehand, as if the session had already begun long before we met.

From the start, the language barrier was there. My Chinese was limited, her English too, and our conversations remained simple, sometimes reduced to a few words, gestures, and looks. It could have slowed everything down, created distance, but instead, it forced us to focus on what really mattered.

Ziqing knew what she wanted, and I followed that vision, adapting it to the space, to the light, to the reality of The Tiny Studio. There was a quiet determination in the way she moved, a focus that guided each image forward.

At the end, when we looked at the photos together, it was clear. The pictures were there.
