The portrait session lasts 3 hours. We invite you to bring a few outfits to vary moods and styles — dark and/or plain clothes work best to highlight your face, expressions, and eyes. Professional makeup is not required; it can be a good way to feel more confident, but it should remain light so the result looks natural and like you.
We offer different atmospheres with textured backdrops, and you can tell us what you like. During the session, we handle everything: positioning you under the studio lights, guiding your movement, and finding the angles that bring out your best. Through constant dialogue, we help your expressions come to life and enhance the intensity of your gaze. We know that being in front of a lens isn't easy for everyone, so we guide you gently — our goal is to make the experience enjoyable, relaxed, and successful. Trust us, and simply follow our direction; it's our responsibility to reveal your gestures and personality through a warm, human approach.
During and at the end of the session, we select the best images together. The final pictures are high‑definition, royalty‑free (for personal or professional use; for advertising or publishing, please get in touch), with subtle retouching to smooth away minor skin imperfections.

How is a portrait session in the studio?

Being alone with a professional photographer can feel intimidating, which is why we create a friendly, supportive atmosphere. The Tiny Studio is intimate and warm, so you'll feel at ease. We listen to your wishes, follow your ideas, but we'll also gently suggest new directions based on how the session evolves and your natural gestures.

People often tell us the experience itself is just as memorable as the photographs — the exchange between photographer and subject is always unique, never formulaic, and filled with discovery.

How does a portrait shoot work?

An individual session lasts about 3 hours (sometimes more), during which we guide you with kindness and humour, making sure the time is enjoyable and the images exceed your expectations. We understand that posing can feel awkward, but directing the session is our job — and we promise there are no unphotogenic people. It's the photographer's eye that makes the difference.

What is your approach as a photographer?

Our approach is all about the person: expressions, the character of a face, connection. The final portrait is a reflection of your personality. Our studio images are free of gimmicks — it's your gaze and the beauty of the light that give them strength. Modern, simple, timeless.

How to dress?

Come as you are — and also bring something a bit more dressed up. Pack the outfits you love. We discuss style, mood, and clothing during our preparation call, and I send you practical, personalised advice. You can email me ideas anytime. In general, bring more rather than less! I'll guide you from start to finish to ensure a harmonious look.

How long is the session?

As long as we're having fun! In practice, it's a 3‑hour session. For individual portraits, we have the freedom to create and express ourselves. With good preparation, everything flows smoothly.

How do I choose the shots I want?

During and after the shoot, we sit together at my computer to review and select your favourites. I may capture up to 200 images, but I've already narrowed them down to the strongest as we go. I'll guide you, but the final choice is always yours.

How do I receive the images?

We take great care in processing: all shots are captured in RAW for the best quality. After selection, we refine each portrait individually. A few days later, you receive your high‑definition, royalty‑free files — in black amp&; white or colour — via a private online gallery where you can view, and download.

How long does it take to receive the final photos?

I'm as excited as you are! Turnaround is 2–5 days from image selection.

Do I get the digital files?

Yes, every portrait you purchase is delivered as a high‑resolution digital file, ready for your phone, social media, or printing at your convenience. I make sure you have beautiful images that I'm proud of, and I also understand your desire to live in the digital age.

Can I get all the RAW files?

Nope. Editing is such an integral part of image making that I won't let a photo go out into the world without my finishing touch — my reputation is on the line. And my accountant would be very unhappy if I started giving away my "product" for free.

Where is your studio?

The Tiny Studio is close to Jingxi Road Station, metro Line 15, in Minhang District.
