Yu

Sitting in front of the lens, Yu hardly hesitated. It was her first portrait session, without artifice, without imposed poses. The theme resonated within her like something obvious: “Come as you are, be yourself, be authentic.”

As agreed, she had brought a few outfits she loved, pieces that already belonged to her story. There was nothing to change, nothing to fix. Just space to exist.
I guided her gently, through small movements, subtle adjustments, a look held a little longer, a breath released. Nothing forced, nothing staged.
As the session unfolded, she began to let go. Her shoulders softened. Silence settled between us, naturally, only interrupted by the quiet rhythm of the shutter. Her laughter came without effort. Even her silences became something to see.

We created portraits that felt alive, honest, the kind we don’t always dare to show, but instinctively recognize as true. At the end, she looked at the images on the screen and smiled, almost surprised: “That’s really me, right there.”

And that was all that mattered.
