Joey
When Joey arrived, we eased into it with a quiet talk — what she'd brought, where to start. While her clothes steamed, we walked back through the poses and direction we'd already mapped out together during prep, everything settling into place before a single frame was taken.
There was an ease to her from the start. She laughed easily, spoke openly, and the conversation moved wherever it wanted to go — never forced, never guarded. That same openness carried straight into the way she looked at the camera.
Her confidence didn't ask for attention; it simply held it. Chin lifted just slightly, eyes steady, she gave each frame a quiet certainty — not performing prettiness, just letting it exist. It photographed as effortlessly as she carried it.
I offered small direction — a turn of the shoulder, a breath, a beat to hold — and she ran with it, refining each pose into something more precise, more hers, without ever losing the ease that made it feel unstudied.
The studio is small, but Joey didn't shrink to fit it. If anything, the space felt larger around her — every frame full of presence, every pause intentional.
With Joey, nothing needed to be coaxed out. It was simply there, waiting to be seen.
